What will happen if i sleep with a deep conditioning hair mask cream on?

Along with all my other medical problems my hair health is now starting to go down hill. I want to repair all the damage to my hair so i was wondering what would happen if i slept with the conditioner on?What will happen if i sleep with a deep conditioning hair mask cream on?
i believe it looses potency after so many minutes, so it may not condition ';extra';, but it wouldn't hurt at all to try! What will happen if i sleep with a deep conditioning hair mask cream on?
Well, if you leave it in as-is, you'll probably cause a mess on your pillow, and the product might dry out on your hair and be more difficult to rinse out. I'd suggest wrapping your hair in saran-wrap or something similar - it looks idiotic, but it keeps the moisture in, as well as the heat (which will, in my experience, help the mask to work on your hair).

Sleeping with conditioner in it won't damage the hair, and it's quite possible that it'll work even better on your hair when you leave it in that long. Your hair may end up a bit limp, but I see no reason why you shouldn't try it out. =)
Don't do it, it actually damages the hair. I tried that in the past, and it made my hair mushy and unruly. Too much conditioning is bad for your hair, causes build-up and makes hair weigh down too much. Buy a good deep conditioning mask, like ION pack from Sally Beauty Supply and use it once every two weeks. If your hair is dry, wash it and condition it twice a week. Purchase some Redken products, they are the best for regular shampoo and conditioning. Steer clear of the drugstore for hair products.

EDIT: When I said wash and condition twice a week, I meant to use regular shampoo and conditioner, use the deep treatment mask only every two weeks.
Girl, I was gonna do that tonight too! I know many people who deep condition their hair overnight and it doesn't damage their hair. Of course-- everyone's hair is different, so you won't know whether or not it works with your hair until you try it. After you put on a plastic cap, put on a scarf of winter hat. The heat generated from your head works great with the deep conditioner. My hair type is 4 a/b [we probably have a similar hair texture] and i've noticed that the longer I leave my deep conditioner on, the better the results. Your hair will dry and it will be hard as a rock. LOL! Really, it will turn hard, but it probably won't hurt your hair. Have you ever thought of putting a quality conditioner on it, then heating a moist tea or hand towel in the microwave...(NOT so hot that it burns you) and wrapping it around your head for about 20 minutes and then rinsing well. You can repeat this step as often as you feel your hair needs it. I hope this helps!!
Depends on the conditioner. If you're talking about cholesterol it'll just sort of sit there. There's only so much that your hair can absorb and then it'll just sit on top of your hair. If a deep conditioning treatment doesn't work, I'd suggest a protein treatment. It should help restore a lot of the strength in your hair. Good luck!
I wouldn't recommend it. All you will get is a mess on your pillow! You should only leave a deep conditioning treatment on for 5-15 minutes. And you can add heat to that for better results. You would probably want to do this only 1-3 times a week.
ive done that before and nothing happened although i did notice that a lot more hair fell off. i wouldnt recommend it.
